Sydney encounters

Last week we managed just a quick visit to Sydney .. had to sorted out some paperwork at our embassy so we took this oppprtunity to stay at least overnight to experience the " big" City .. Perth is great place but bit quieter comparing to cities on the east coast.

We got the Red Eye flight ( 2am departure from Perth lasting  just around 3,5 hrs so we arrived bit exhausted around 8am Sydney time ... but keen to do some exploring later.
We were just lucky to arrive in time of Vivid Sydney (Festival of Lights) when the Darling Harbour was illuminated by amazing lights every night ... having dinner by the Opera House watching that beautiful show .. it was just spectacular!

The next day after we were kicked out of our hotel we headed back to the Hatbour .. as I discovered pretty affordable attraction right at the Sydney Bridge .. the Pylon Lookout ... not only a 360degrees view at the Sydney opera house and Darling Harbour but also a muzeum of history of that bridge. As we are both interested in history that was a truly worthy experience!

We climber around 200 steps to get to the complete top .. and the view was really breathtaking ! From there we could see those groups of people climbing the entire bridge ... looked very interesting but the price for that was little bit too crazy ..

In that pylon they provided a short movie about the entire history of that impressive bridge. It took whole 9 years to complete ( opened in March 1932) ... unbelievably only 13 workers died during that time .. and from that number only 2 fell from the arches .... which is truly crazy as those photos of them walking without any safety requirements promenading hundred metres above the ground .... we learned that they were very proud of their work and hold a special bond between each other ... and they did a brilliant job too!

After that we had still few hours to kill to our departure so we decided to take a ferry .. to Parramatta ! It cost about $7 and we had an entertainment for the whole 1,5 hr! Weather was just perfect, The view to the main Sydney atttactioms from the water and then going thru the canals with frequent stops .. it was actually a bus on the water ... passengers jumping on and off .. ( one of them was truly interesting ..totally unfriendly looking guy watching us suspiciously as he could hear our foreign accents and when I tried to take a selfie of me and Bassam at the stop with irresistible name of Kissing Point, he actually volunteered to take a photo of us ! He did, without any facial expression except a huge frown then gave me my phone back continuing to stare at us then he asked me where I come from ... I told him and he replied with a meaning voice. " if you going to post those photos online tell your friends this is absolutely horrible country,we don't want any more immigrants here !!! " with that he turned angrily around and furiously looked ahead till his stop came and he finally p...,d off ... what a lovely experience 😁.

When we got to Parramatta I was slightly shocked as I expected something like ordinary suburb but Instead we were welcomed by skyscrapers and busy roads .. we found the train station quickly and headed to the airport.

It was pretty hectic two days in one very busy city .. it was a great experience but honesty I so value our quiet and relaxed  little Perth, with its beautiful and calm and friendly  inhabitants ... but we will be back sometime for more adventures 😊
